XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770
$160.00
Released September, 2009
The Pros:Will play next-generation games at highest settings smoothly, very rarely does anything need to be dropped down a bit. Scales very well with CrossFireX, shows a big boost in improvement. Stock clocks are fine, no need to overclock the card.
The Cons:There are still a few games that can't quite be run on full graphics settings, and need anti-aliasing dropped down one point. Control for the cooling fan is a little awkward and hard to access.
It competes directly with the GeForce GTS 260/16, Radeon HD 4850, and Radeon HD 4870. Like the Radeon models, the XFX card runs at 800MHz and features 800 processors, but it accesses it memory through a 128-bit interface, which is half the width found on its competitors.

As for the GTS, the XFX has been shown through testing to perform worse on almost everything, but it adds two pivotal features: DirectX-11 compatibility and a DisplayPort. Featured also is 1GB of RAM, two DVI outputs, and one HDMI output. The card allows a user to connect up to three monitors as a single desktop, but the third monitor MUST use the highly unpopular DisplayPort connector. Compared to the $299.99 GTX, the HD 5770 is a bargain in regards to price. However, users seeking high-performance may want to look elsewhere.
