VisionTek Radeon HD 4870
$299.00
Released June, 2008
The Pros:Stock cooling system is good enough to handle overclocking. Powerful enough to handle most modern games at full settings without any lagging. Fairly future-proof, still achieves great results years later and compares with newly developed cards well.
The Cons:Need a powerful power supply to run it. Takes a pair of PCI-E cables, not just one. Eats up a lot of room in the case, won't fit in everything.
The VisionTek Radeon HD 4870 is a double slot high end graphics card with 512MB of DDR5 ram. Using the stock ATI cooler, the card is clocked at the default 750MHz/900MHz (gpu/memory) timings. For more information on the HD 4870 refer to the full report.
