$89.00 Released January, 2011

Product Shot 1 The Pros:You go to hell and you.

The Cons:Excessive power consumption.

The Nvidia GeForce GT 555M is a graphic processing unit (GPU) for large laptops, and is designed to handle gaming duties as well as high definition audio and video. This is based on the Nvidia GeForce GT 550M, but has 144 data pipelines operating at a slightly slower 590 MHz to keep the power draw even.

Otherwise they are the same, with a 128-bit memory bus that works at 900 MHz with either DDR3 or GDDR5 memory. HD video and audio can be processed and sent to the HDMI port if needed, and 3D standards such as DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0 are fully supported. As with all GPUs in the series, this chip uses 40 nanometer architecture.
