Nvidia GeForce GT 425M

Released September, 2010

Product Shot 1The GeForce GT 425M is one of several DirectX 11 notebook graphics cards from Nvidia new for fall 2010. Like the 420M, it features 96 CUDA cores, but it offers enhanced graphics and processor clock speeds, and is available with twice the memory (1GB), making it a more mid-range option.

The card features technologies like Nvidia Optimus, which saves battery life by automatically alternating between the GPU and the notebook's integrated graphics as required, and Nvidia PhysX, which provides support for advanced in-game physics. The GT 425M also handles HD video decoding, helping to free up the CPU and deliver a seamless movie-watching experience. The GT 435M is a minor step up, further boosting core clock speeds but not adding any new technology.
