MSi VN210-MD512
$45.00
Released November, 2009
The Pros:Good driver support, drivers are easily accessible via MSi's website. Compact size will fit into low profile brackets, good for HTPC builds. Good performance to price ratio, for budget gaming or HD media center.
The Cons:Lack of manual fan control, from bios or windows. Fan can be loud during use, keeps GPU cool, but at a price. Non-variable fan speed, which is the main reason for the loud fan noise, fan is at high speed even when idle.
The MSi VN210-MD512 is a basic video card for people who need to take some load off of their main CPU for graphic processing. This is not a card designed for gaming or advanced graphic workstations.

The card's low price makes it a viable option for those who need something basic.
The processor is a 589MHz NVidia GeForce 210, which is supported by 512MB of DDR2 memory. The memory itself is clocked at 800MHz and uses a 64-bit interface to exchange data with the processor. The card uses a basic PCI-E 2.0 slot, and outputs in VGA, DVI-I, and HDMI. While it can manage resolutions of up to 2560x1600, expect a major performance slow-down at this level of detail. Both DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1 are supported.
