Gigabyte GV-NX96T1GHP
$190.00
Released February, 2008
The Pros:One of very few mid range graphics card with a silent passive cooler. 256-bit is a nice addition, considering many main stream cards are hindered by a 128-bit bus. SLI compatible, although whether or not having two of these passively cooled cards in SLI configuration is another question.
The Cons:Passive cooler is space consuming, and the user will have to ensure a good air flow inside the case, in the end it snot really worth it. Essentially a 8800GT reband, nothing new in terms of features or performance. Higher performance models available at a slightly higher price from ATI HD3xxx series.
The Gigabyte GV-NX96T1GHP is a mid-range graphics card with 1GB of ram. Overclocked to 720MHz/2000MHz (from the default 650MHz/1800MHz) The GV-NX96T1GHP utilizes a custom fanless heat sink design, which, as a gaming card, requires good airflow within the case when pushing the card to its full potential.
